The end result is a baffling hodgepodge of never-coalescing ideas ranging from compelling to terrible, and frequently displaying that range back-to-back.įundamentally this is an adventure/survival game: you traipse around stricken disaster zones, help people in need, and haul items from A to B. Once intended for PS3, it was cancelled after the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake & tsunami, but finished under a new publisher. Still, the new machines are viscious, the story is fine, especially some of the sidequests, and theres all sorts of content and new gear to get.ġ. Also, it all looks very same-y (I hope you like snow), and I feel Horizon is best when its in lush environments (which bodes well for the sequel). This was a great DLC if you are looking for more (and harder) Horizon content, but after almost 50 hours of Zero Dawn, I was pretty burned out and I think that hurt my enjoyment of it. Game #62 - Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds Excited to play Frozen Wilds for the first time, I missed it the first time around. Easily one of my favorite games in years and this replay just cemented that. Aloy is a lot more sarcastic than I remembered too which I love. Just a fantastic world to play around in, probably the best enemies in the last generation (how can you not love robot animals come on!), and playing in 4k60 with HDR is great. Replay to be ready for Forbidden West, and I still love it. Gonna be a photo finish here to make 52 but I'm much more confident than I was just a couple of weeks ago. Maybe I'll play other Persona games but this one definitely seemed bloated. The end of the game took like 2 hours to get through, please just end faster! The anime scenes were also pretty slick. Your cat friend sort of spouts out a bunch of random nonsense that typically ends up being right. The music in this game is very good and probably the highlight of the game for me. Definitely a little weird that you can romance several adult women while you are a high schooler. The gameplay loop is what you would expect for this type of game (or so I've gathered) where your days pass in segments which allow you to do a variety of things in each one. I had never played a Persona game before and, while I obviously liked it to put the amount of time into it that I did, it also became boring. Whimsicalish played the last 19 hours to push it over the finish line and I watched the major story beats. I played the first 75 hours earlier in the year and apparently had had enough at that point as I never finished.
